Novelis Q4 sales offset by costs

The world's No. 1 aluminum rolled products producer and can recycler lost $1.26 a share, including $38 mil in items, reversing the year-ago profit of 72 cents a share. Novelis' sales rose 31% to $2.03 bil. However, rising alloy, energy and freight costs all cut into profits. Shares edged up 3 cents to 23.38.
