Mar. 3--Backed by robust growth in the automobile industry, NSK Group has moved to step up production of bearings and steering columns in Thailand this year, according to Phornthep Phornprapha, chairman of Siam Motors Group, a key partner of NSK in Thailand.

Meanwhile, NSK has established its own research and development centre, NSK Asia-Pacific Technical Centre Co, at Amata Nakhon in Chon Buri to serve the company's growth plans in the region. The centre was built at a cost of 80 million baht.
