Mar. 1--Shares of Bualuang Securities defied a sluggish market yesterday, gaining 25 percent over the initial public offering price on their first day of trade.

The stock opened the day at 15.8 baht, well up from its IPO price of 12 baht per share, and reached a high of 16.1 before giving up ground to close at 15 baht on total trade of 952.7 million baht.

Bualuang offered 27.5 million shares to general investors at a price of 12 baht each against a par value of two baht, with another seven million shares offered to directors and staff at 4.1 baht each. Tisco Securities was underwriter for the offering. The company listed ...
