Mar. 1--Former finance minister Suchart Jaovisidha has threatened to sue three senators who have accused him of causing damage to Thai Petrochemical Industry Plc (TPI).

Senators Kamnuan Mohprasit from Uttaradit, Boonlert Pairin from Chachoengsao and Sanit Chanwong from Ubon Ratchathani alleged that Mr Suchart had damaged TPI through his actions as finance minister from 2003 to early 2004.

But Mr Suchart, currently an adviser to Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, said yesterday that he had asked his lawyer to file a suit with the court against the three senators for defamation.
