Mar. 1--Diesel prices should be allowed to float freely in line with market forces, according to Kosit Panpiemras, the executive chairman of Bangkok Bank.
"Oil prices will obviously have an affect on overall economic growth. But I think that it is necessary for the state to adjust prices every once in a while to be in line with the economic picture," he said.
"Consumers also need to find ways to save when it comes to consumption. It's predictable that one day, the price will have to go up."
