Mar. 1--The new deposit insurance law leads the list of several new proposed financial laws pending Parliament approval.
Pongpanu Svetarundra, the deputy director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office, said the draft deposit insurance law, now being reviewed by the Council of State, was a top priority for the government.
"The ministry will push the Deposit Insurance Act to become effective very soon. :The effective date: may be Jan 1, 2006," he said.
