Mar. 1--The cellular operator DTAC has reinvented itself as a "best value for money" brand for the mass market, with the hope of retaining its 30 percent share of nationwide subscribers and revenue this year.

DTAC has earmarked eight billion baht to install 1,000 base stations, expand its Edge multimedia technology capacity in Bangkok and improve the company's media and information system.

"The new campaign is expected to help boost our sales target of adding one million new subscribers to bring our total to nearly nine million this year," said co-chief executive officer Sigve Brekke.
