Mar. 1--Bangkok Airways will hand out 43,200 free tickets, worth over 210 million baht, on the Bangkok-Phuket route to help lure more visitors to the island.
The privately owned carrier, together with the state-run Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), made the offer aimed at boosting Mice (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) tourism through the Tourism Council of Thailand with the view that domestic Mice business could offer a short-term boost to Phuket's tourism industry, which has been struggling since the Dec 26 tsunami.
