JetBlue to launch nonstop flights to New York's JFK from Portland, Ore.

Feb. 24--JetBlue Airways will launch daily nonstop service between Portland and New York's JFK Airport this spring -- offering Clark County business and leisure travelers their only direct connection to the Big Apple.

In an announcement Wednesday, the low-cost carrier, which has roared out of nowhere in the past five years, said that it will begin flights May 17.

To promote the new service, JetBlue is offering introductory one-way fares of $99. The fares do not include taxes and fees, and tickets must be purchased by March 17 for trips between May 17 and June 16.
