Musicians' strike is illegal, says Symphony.

Feb. 24--The St. Louis office of the National Labor Relations Board has ruled that the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra musicians are engaged in an illegal strike, the Symphony management said Wednesday night.

According to a statement issued by the management, "The NLRB has advised that it will issue a formal complaint against the musicians' union and seek authorization for a federal court injunction if the strike is not called off."

In the statement, Symphony Society President Randy Adams said, "It is very unfortunate that our musicians were persuaded to engage in an unnecessary and illegal strike when this entire situation …
