Gender Equity and an Equality Programme for Bosnia and Herzegovina (GEEP) is a bilateral governmental project of Finland for Bosnia and Herzegovina, managed by the Gender Centre of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Gender Centre of Republika Srpska, and executed by the agency of the Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina (IBHI-BiH).The overall objective is to create conditions for gender equity and equality which are a precondition for democracy and good governance.The purpose of the project is to develop gender mainstreaming as a strategy and to develop methods and means to achieve gender equality in the Bill context. The project begun in 2000 and will continue until 2005.
The planned results are in order to contribute to the creation of sustainable conditions of gender equity and equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina and includes the followings:
* A gender sensitive legal and policy framework (gender impact assessments, initial report on CEDAW implementation in Bill, Law on gender equality of Bill, Bill State plan of action on gender equality, decrease of legal illiteracy among women, gender budget analysis.
