An 84-year-old Sandlick, Virginia, man and his wife were held hostage for over two hours by gun-wielding thieves before the husband was able to get his gun and end the ordeal, stated the December 24 Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Clyde Colley and his wife were taken hostage on the night of December 14 when Mazel Sexton came to the Colleys' door, showed Mrs. Colley a gun, and pushed his way inside the house. As he entered, he pulled a ski mask over his head and then used a walkie-talkie to call his cohort, Hubert Howard, Jr.
When Howard entered the house, the thieves made the Colleys lie on the floor, and as one of the thieves held the Colleys at gunpoint, the other ransacked the house.
