On the morning of December 26, 2004, Americans Tong and Mary Vang boarded a speedboat at the pier in Phuket, Thailand, bound for the emerald green waters of the Raya Islands. The islands are known for their unspoiled beaches, waters teeming with fish, and reefs that make for outstanding snorkeling and diving.
