Yak's Corner covers news that makes headlines close to home and far away. Here are top stories we've written about for you since 1994.

* Olympics: We just finished watching the Summer Games in Greece. Whether at home or at the Games in the host city, the Yak has followed the Olympics since the Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1996. Other Games covered have been in Nagano, Japan, in 1998, in Sydney, Australia, in 2000 and Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2002.

* Elections: This year's presidential election is a close race, the experts say. Who will win? Stay tuned to the Yak--and don't forget to vote in our kids' mock election in October. Yak's Corner readers' votes have correctly predicted the winner in the last two elections for U.S. president and Michigan governor. The majority of Yak's Corner voters selected President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, Governor John Engler and Governor Jennifer Granholm.
