The third and final round of library construction fund recipients has been announced by the California Library Construction and Renovation Board. Seventy-two communities competed for the more than $80 million remaining from the $350 million generated by Proposition 14, approved by voters in 2000. The state announced 12 awards, which cover 65 percent of a project--either new construction of a public library or the renovation and expansion of an existing building. So far, a total of 46 projects have been supported at a cost of $338 million.
