Feb. 7--The price war in the local prepaid mobile phone market has peaked, with DTAC and TA Orange now making last-ditch attempts to tap each other's promotion-seeking customers.

The intensified competition has prompted analysts to revise upward their forecast for the total number of new mobile phone users by four million.

Second-ranked DTAC is launching a new campaign today that offers rates as low one baht per minute with no time-of-day limitations on prepaid customers. The campaign takes direct aim at smaller rival TA Orange, which charges prepaid customers one baht a minute from 11 pm to 5 pm, and four baht ...
