Feb. 7--Chiang Mai -- Economic prospects in the northern provinces are expected to remain strong through 2005, according to the regional office of the Bank of Thailand.
Growth is expected to remain steady, although some signs of slowing are being seen in some sectors, according to Somsak Wongpanyathavorn, research director of the central bank's northern office.
Gains in private consumption and investment would help spur economic conditions in the northern provinces, he added.
