Feb. 4--A temporary duty-free zone will be declared for the six tsunami-hit southern provinces under a joint programme undertaken by the Customs Department and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Sathit Limpongpan, the customs director-general, said the initiative was aimed at supporting efforts to revive tourism in Phuket, Phangnga, Krabi, Trang, Satun and Ranong.
