RV demand drives Thor Q2 sales

The vehicle manufacturer said preliminary sales showed a 26% rise over the year-ago quarter to $537 mil, boosted by a 28% rise in RV sales and a 11% rise in bus sales. Thor Industries' RV retail sales rose 13% from the year-ago quarter to 11,107 units. However, total backlog dropped 10% to $449 mil. Shares rose 2% to 35.30.

Kodak ships most digital cameras

The film giant surged past Sony to ship the most digital cameras last year, delivering 4.88 mil to U.S. retailers. That's up 66% from '03 and more than Sony's 4.33 mil. Eastman Kodak, which made a late start into filmless photography, expanded its market share to 21.9% vs. 17.9%, said researcher IDC. Sony's share fell to 19.4%. Canon rose to 3rd place with a 16% share and Olympus held onto 4th place. Kodak rose 2% to 33.80. Sony fell 0.5% to 36.99.
