TA Orange increases its network capacity.

Feb. 3--TA Orange yesterday signed a five-billion-baht contract with Alcatel to expand its network coverage capacity to accommodate up to six million subscribers and expand nationwide coverage to 90 percent by the end of the year.
The expansion represents the fourth phase of the mobile operator's expansion programme. Some US$900 million has been spent already on the first three phases, including the construction of a GPRS network nationwide, the installation of next-generation network solutions and an upgraded Edge system to pave the way for future migration to 3G-technology.
