Feb. 3--Consumer finance company Cetelem is looking to purchase a Thai finance company to help the French financial services giant expand its customer base in the country.
"We are surveying and looking at business opportunities and are in talks with five companies," said Emmanuel Bourg, chief operating officer of Cetelem (Thailand). He said the company wanted to step up its presence in the country, and had plans to raise capital by 800 million baht to finance business expansion and investment plans.
