Last spring during National Library Week, the Yak offered students and teachers a chance to win 1,000 books for their school library in the second annual Yak's Corner Library Legacy project.

It took us all summer to pick from the more than 150 entries from teachers, students, librarians and principals. You all showed how much you love--and need--books.

This week, the Yak will deliver the 1,000 books to Allen Academy in Detroit, this year's winner of Yak's Corner Library Legacy. A big thanks to school media director Charlene Brown (and many others at the school) ...
