GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - After two years of waiting, local government units (LGUs) in the country will finally get an increase this year in their Internal Revenue Allotments (IRA) from the national government.
South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance-Fuentes bared this development today saying that the Senate, which is now discussing the national budget, has made a commitment to the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) "not to touch" the proposed P10 billion (US$181.8 million) intended for the increase in the IRA shares of LGUs for this year.
