Feb. 2--Siam Commercial New York Life Insurance Plc (SCNYL) has set a 13 percent rise to premiums of new business this year to generate 4.87 billion baht income with total premiums to grow 48 percent to 8.68 billion baht.
According to Donald Carden, the president and CEO, SCNYL performance in 2004 has shown impressive growth, with new business surging by 145 percent to 4.3 billion baht year-on-year. Total premiums jumped by 124 percent to 5.84 billion baht, with renewal premiums contributing 1.77 billion baht, up 88 percent, and a persistency rate of 90 percent.
