Feb. 2--The Boeing Company has reiterated its belief that airlines still prefer smaller aircraft, even as its European competitor, Airbus, continues to command heavy attention with its gigantic A380 model.
"We believe that the market is small," said Randy Tinseth, the director of product marketing and services at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, at a briefing in Bangkok yesterday.
Just two weeks ago, Airbus held the formal launch party for its new 555-seat double-decker A380, which some critics say is overweight as well as over budget.
