Sharp distributor exits one-door refrigerator units.

Feb. 2--Thai City Electric Co, the local distributor of Sharp home appliances, will temporarily cease distributing one-door refrigerators due to heavy price competition resulting from an industry oversupply.
With the penetration rate of one-door refrigerators per household now almost 100 percent, consumers have been shifting to larger sizes or two-door models, for which prices have also been declining, to as low as 8,000 baht from 10,000 baht per unit two to three years ago.
