Tyson misses as profit falls 66%
The meat giant earned 11 cents a share ex items, missing views by 14 cents, hurt by costs associated with mad cow disease and low pork prices. Sales were flat from the year-ago period at $6.5 bil. Tyson Foods forecast earning $1.05-$1.30 a share in '05, in line with views of $1.28, and expects its bottom line to turn around in the 2nd half of the year. Shares fell 3.5% to 17.17.
