(From Canberra Times)
No shock to see the Morrisey name having trained a winning double at Canberra but for the first time it was Scott and not his father John doing the honours.
Scott, 29, is John's foreman at Capricorn Park but also finds time to train a few in his own name.
Last Friday at Canberra, Scott produced Tad and Intemperate in winning form. His only other horse in work, Tavern, ran third in Intemperate's race for a $16,800 payday for connections.
Scott, with about 20 winners to his credit, is giving his father - Canberra's 22-time premiership winner - a fair start but his first training double narrowed the margin slightly.
''It was a good day. I've gone close a couple of times and while I was pretty confident with Tad [after Intemperate had won] I couldn't help but cheer him home pretty hard up the straight,'' Scott said.
While eligible for class-four races, Tad won Friday's Open 1000m.
