FORMER military intelligence chief Brig. Gen. Galileo Kintanar and the two women linked to the murder of actress Nida Blanca will have to wait a little longer for a summons from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
State Prosecutor Archimedes Manabat said yesterday the new panel of prosecutors that would conduct the preliminary investigation was still reviewing the "voluminous" documents and evidence in the case.
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez said last week subpoenas would be issued against Kintanar, former chief of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines; long-time Blanca aide Elena dela Paz; and Ditas San Jose dela Paz, a second cousin of Kaye Torres, Blanca's daughter, to determine their involvement in the actress' murder.
New witnesses
Manabat said the new members of the prosecution panel-State Prosecutors Caridad Junio and Melvin Abad-were reviewing evidence that now include sworn statements of new witnesses Andrada "Anji" Dalandas, Ranny Francisco and Fedelyn "Mariz" Canonio.
