(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Al S. Mendoza
ASI Taulava played on Sunday against his wishes. If you will dispute that, you don't know your company rules.
For one, Asi is an employee of Talk 'N Text. As such, he is duty bound to follow orders from his bosses. He decides not to play and he can be fired for insubordination.
For another, Asi is at war with the PBA by virtue of court cases involving both his citizenship and playing rights in the PBA. A regional trial court had ruled he could play; so he played based mainly on an RTC ruling-a fact cited, quite correctly, by TNT management to field in Asi.
Don't get me wrong. I'm merely citing facts. No partisanship here-as always.
What I am saying is, Asi never broke any Philippine law when he played for TNT on Sunday. In fact, he was heeding Philippine law when he saw action on Sunday.
