ILOILO CITY-Police are hunting a German national charged with last year's killings of three foreigners and one Filipino on Boracay Island in Aklan after he left the island days before the warrant for his arrest came out.
A "tracking team" has been sent out to locate and arrest Uwe Friesl, said Senior Supt. Jose Jorge Corpuz, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director for Western Visayas.
Corpuz said they lost track of Friesl who was spotted in Manila early this month. "He will be arrested on sight," Corpuz told the Inquirer in a telephone interview.
Jamie Ma. Flores II, Friesl's lawyer, maintained his client's innocence.
"He is in the country but is very concerned about his safety," Flores said in a telephone interview. "He will not resist if he is arrested."
