(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
AT 3, JEREMY Cayabyab is in danger of losing his one and only eye.
He already lost his left eye last year after doctors said he had Retinoblastoma Extraocular, a cancer of the eye common among children below 5 years old.
Because of financial constraints, Jeremy's family was not able to bring him for medical treatment immediately, making his condition worse.
The diagnosis was made last March 2004, but doctors were only able to remove his infected eye after six months.
"We needed P6,000 for his operation but I only had P200 at that time so the treatment was postponed," Antonio Lacoreta, Jeremy's grandfather said.
Jeremy stays with his grandfather and grandmother in Malabon.
