AFTER the success of his "Panaghoy sa Suba," which he directed and starred in, Cesar Montano is looking forward to the showing in Manila of his first Hollywood picture, "The Great Raid," directed by John Dahl ("Joy Ride," "Faithful Man," "Last Seduction").
A special invitational preview is set on Monday, Feb. 7, at the Greenbelt Theater.
Based on the book "Ghost Soldiers," written by Hampton Sides, "The Great Raid" chronicles the bravery of Filipino guerrillas who saved American soldiers in a crucial rescue mission which actually happened in Nueva Ecija during World War II. Montano plays the role of Captain Juan Pajota, a brave soldier from that province.
The film sees Montano pitting acting prowess with Benjamin Bratt, Joseph Fiennes and James Franco, among others.
Montano says it took all of five months to shoot "The Great Raid" with preliminary training done in Brisbane, Australia, where he underwent his toughest screen role preparation.
