Bucs need to 'decide' soon on Griese status.(SPORTS)(Comment)(Column)

You have to wonder what foot-dragging Bruce Allen is thinking given the disappointment expressed by Ralph Cindrich, the agent for Brian Griese after his first face-to-face meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' general manager last week in Mobile, Ala.

Did Allen try to low-ball Griese or what? It's the Bucs who need to facilitate the restructuring of Griese's contract, not Griese. He would be happy to receive the $6 million roster bonus he's owed by the Bucs on March 2, which the team has no intention of paying. Or try to find another job, should the Bucs release him.

The trouble is for Tampa Bay, the Bucs will not find another quarterback comparable to Griese's ability level. He …
