MELBOURNE, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Victoria has overtaken New South Wales for the first time to become Australia's largest agriculture producing state.
Victorian Agriculture Minister Bob Cameron today said preliminary figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed that Victoria's production was A$8.7 billion (US$6.7 billion) last year.
This equates to 23.8 per cent of Australia's total production.
In NSW, production was $8.4 billion last year, or 22.9 per cent of the nation's total production.
