SYDNEY, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian sharemarket jumped to record highs this morning and remained firmer to noon, buoyed by a strong lead from Wall Street overnight.
Most blue chip stocks were stronger across the key sectors such as banking and resources.
At 1206 AEDT, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 was 18.1 points higher at 4125.4 after reaching a fresh intraday record high of 4126.9.
The all ordinaries index was up 18.3 points to 4125 after also reaching an intraday record high of 4126.6.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange the March share price index contract lifted 25 points to 4110 - a 15.4 point discount to the underlying index - on a volume of 8,232 contracts.
