CANBERRA, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Australian exports of goods and services rebounded strongly through 2004 and would continue to do so, Trade Minister Mark Vaile said today.
Commenting on the release of the December trade figures, which showed a deficit of $A2.4 billion ($US1.86 billion) for the month, Mr Vaile said there were emerging signs the export sector would grow strongly in coming months.
He said today's figures showed imports falling slightly.
"Imports declined during the month by one per cent while exports rose by one per cent, driven largely by the strong growth in manufacturing exports," he said in a statement.
