SEOUL, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea's Samsung Group said Monday that it will give employees about 1.1 trillion won (US$1.1 billion) as part of a profit-sharing measure based on last year's better-than-expected profits.

The country's largest family-owned conglomerate said its profits hit 19.5 trillion won ($19.0 billion)in 2004, 5.4 trillion won above what was predicted at the start of the year.

The bonus is expected to be awarded before the Lunar New Year holiday on Feb. 9.
