Broken leg knits and so does marriage A broken leg has restored a marriage headed for the divorce courts. After 12 years together Lu Cuilan and her husband Wang Suqiang decided to call it a day. They felt the love had gone out of their relationship and filed for divorce.

But a few days before they were to sign the divorce agreement, Lu, from Urumqi, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, broke her leg after falling off her bicycle.

Seeing Lu unable to get about except on crutches, Wang went out of his way to help his wife. And even when she was better able to get around and look after herself, Lu continued to act the helpless …
