Vice-President Zeng Qinghong said stability, harmony and development had become Hong Kong's mainstream aspirations.

Noting the recent economic upturn, he urged Hong Kongers to cherish the improving situation and continue to make progress.

Speaking to the Chinese community during his visit to Chile, he said: "I am aware that there are three pursuits in Hong Kong: for stability, harmony and development. This is the mainstream view. This is what people want."
