ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are the only team in the American League and one of four in Major League Baseball that have not had a pitcher throw a no- hitter.

Thursday, the Rays signed a pitcher who has thrown two no-hitters.

Hideo Nomo, 36, signed a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training with Tampa Bay.

The right-hander has a 118-101 career record with a 4.05 earned run average during 301 games, 299 starts, during his 10- year major league career with Los Angeles (twice), New York Mets, …
