Jan. 27--Create local "suspension centers" for small-time troublemakers. Reduce school crowding. Lobby for a bigger juvenile detention center.
Those are among the projects officials from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the county's seven municipalities discussed Wednesday as they looked for ways to boost school safety and discipline.
"If we can get these kind of situations to the surface, I don't have any doubt that we can solve them," Superintendent James Pughsley told city officials as they aired concerns.
