Jan. 27--The local Board of Education is disputing an 11 percent increase in the tuition bill for Southern Regional High School for the 2002-03 school year.
According to figures it unveiled Wednesday night, Barnegat would spend about $1 million more for tuition at Southern for 2002-03 than it did the year before. There is a two-year delay before sending districts get their bills, Schools Superintendent Thomas C. McMahon explained.
"We are now basically saying, "It's hard to believe," " he said.
