Simon McGee Political Editor DEPUTY Prime Minister John Prescott has hailed his five-year vision for housing as offering "the most comprehensive, fair and flexible policies ever to deliver sustainable home ownership".

His Homes For All plan aims to help around 300,000 council and housing association tenants to buy a stake of 50 per cent or more of their homes, with up to 80,000 first-time buyers being helped with the building of low-cost starter homes on public land.
