A grand jury recently completed its investigations into charges that the University of Colorado at Boulder's football program used sex and drugs to recruit players. Three female students have sued the school, charging that CU football players or recruits had raped them after a recruiting party on December 7, 2001, for a total of nine women claiming sexual assaults.
Fallout from the football scandal continues:
* Richard Tharp, AD at Boulder, resigned under pressure in November. He is the first senior official at CU to step down since the scandal.
* Chancellor Richard Byyny, who heads the Boulder campus, resigned three weeks later. He will take a newly created post as executive director of the University of Colorado hospital.
* The University of Colorado Foundation is under investigation for misusing thousands of dollars in donations for questionable athletics department expenses. Last year the foundation spent nearly $25,000 for country club memberships for five coaches. The ...
