In Sep and Oct 2004, 7 collaborations involving North Carolina biotechnology companies were announced. Curis, Cambridge, MA, has signed a research agreement with Norak Biosciences, Morrisville, to use Noraks Trasfluor technology. Two additional proteins are to be produced for Centocor, Malvern, PA, by Biolex, Pittsboro, under a revision of their collaborative agreement. Biocon, Bangalore, India, and Nobex, Research Triangle Park, have signed a joint venture development agreement for the global codevelopment of an oral insulin product for the treatment of diabetes. …
