* Prices rose across the board tracking, crude futures. The onset of colder weather in western Europe and the northeast US also lent support.

* Steep rises in gasoil prices deterred buyers in northwest Europe. German consumers were particularly reluctant to restock after prices rose beyond $400/t. Demand is more solid in the south and traders are buying to meet east Mediterranean buying interest.

* Draught restrictions remain in place at Ventspils, meaning large cargoes cannot be loaded. This has kept a marginal arbitrage to the US from working despite solid demand there. But dredging is improving the situation daily.

* High-sulphur cracked fuel oil …
