AROUND 1,000 militant farmers clashed yesterday with anti-riot policemen near Chino Roces Bridge in Manila on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Mendiola Massacre.
Still seething with rage over the violent dispersal of farmworkers at Hacienda Luisita, the protesters marched from Espa[currency]a Boulevard toward Chino Roces Bridge, the site of the infamous massacre, but were blocked by anti-riot police at the corner of Nicanor Reyes St. and C.M.
