Congress President Sonia Gandhi has intervened to clear the mess in the Haryana unit of her party.

Predictions that her party may be on the verge of sweeping the state legislative assembly polls have created problems in the Congress.

While Sonia's unusual step of convening meetings with all party nominees individually on Wednesday evening is being termed as "stock taking interaction", party sources say she had to do this to quell factional fights.
