ST. PETERSBURG -- You don't have to travel so far away to be reminded of the magic of Carole King.
The singer and songwriter, whose 1971 album "Tapestry" spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, is the focus of a musical of the same name, which opens tonight at the Palladium Theatre in St. Petersburg. It is produced by the American Stage theater company.
King created the revue herself with Gerry Goffin, her former husband and collaborator on some of her biggest early hits.
